Drones are unmanned ships that can carry out simple tasks based on their role. The different types of drones are combat drones, electronic warfare drones, combat utility drones, logistic drones and mining drones.

Drones are launched from drone bays, which differ in size from ship to ship.

Load your drone bay by right-clicking your ship in the ship hangar and selecting open drone bay. Then drag and drop the drones from your hangar into your drone bay.

Once in space, right click on the drones in bay bar to your right. Select launch drones from the contextual menu.

Once the drones are deployed, and you have locked a target of your choice, right-click on the drones in local space bar, and select engage target.

The drones in space bar is where you issue all your commands to active drones, such as attacking the target or returning to the drone bay.

Also notice you can expand and collapse the bar to see individual drone status.

Most races rely on multiple types of weapons. That means that most ships will allow you to carry either a mix of guns and missile launchers, guns and drones or another combination.

It is always a good idea to see what bonuses your ship provides. You can see these bonuses by right-clicking on your ship and selecting show info, and

looking at the descriptions tab. You will get better performance by fitting your ship with weapons that will benefit from these bonuses.
